Designing Ideas...

A few years back you may have come across me in my 'craft circuit' travels... "One Of A Kind", "Signatures" & "Festival of Friends" to name a few.

Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to close the "Get Smart Doors" on this part of my life, but thought you might get a kick out of seeing these.

I still have some in stock and would be happy to sell them at my cost, listed beside the appropriate design. (they used to retail at $85 so this is a deal!)

Corn-On-The-Cob Design

The 'corn-on-the-cob' example shows the bag in a seated position and how the top would be flipped inside out to get it off the baby's face. Velcro is used to open and close the front flap; it also allows the 'face' area to be drawn in closer to ensure the baby stays warm. A 3" buttonhole slit was also introduced to allow the baby carseat buckle through for quick trips around town...

These bags were meant to be more of a sleeping bag rather than a papoose... there are no straps for 'wearing' or carrying purposes..
.i.e. lay them flat in a tent, stroller or baby carriage.

Newborns may be a little tiny for these at first, however, inserting a 'head-hugger' ensures the baby stay's in position. Depending on the size of the baby, they are quite comfortable for babies 2 months up to 1 yr. of age!

Created completely from scratch, the fabrics and quilt batting were hand cut and machine sewn, then quilted and assembled. The design features include elements from the fruits, vegetables and animals they represent...
